Increasing the number of female tradespeople could improve Australia’s GDP by 11% and boost economic growth over the next decade.*

Australia is facing a skills shortage across a vast number of trades such as plumbers, fitter and turners and telecommunications, as only a few examples. This is an issue that puts a hand brake on business and economic growth.

Empowered Women In Trades (EWIT) addresses this issue by connecting with the innovators of industry to address the barriers that have prevented women from seeing trades as an option.

With women able to see a viable career pathway and entry points into trade apprenticeships, EWIT creates a platform to address areas of skills shortages via the provision of the resources to empower women to match their career growth. We aim to foster a network of stakeholders for the workforce to enhance business productivity and human resource diversity.
