EWIT News – April 2024
Welcome to EWIT’s Newsletter – it is a big week for us speaking and exhibiting at Sydney Build, we can’t wait to tell you all about it. This week we have highlights from our partnerships at Apprenticeship programs and some networking events in Sydney. We also have an interview with Bella from the Construction Specialties Louvre factory team and a fantastic offer of support for breast cancer awareness from Steel Blue.
Reece’s Apprentice+ Roadshow
We recently joined REECE in Sydney to launch their Apprentice + program. The program is aimed to engage with enthusiastic pre-apprentices and apprentices who are at the very beginning of their plumbing careers!
Attendees discussed the future of the plumbing industry, shared insights, and offered advice to help the next generation of skilled tradies succeed. It was inspiring to see the passion and dedication of these young individuals at the beginning of their journey.
EWIT CEO Hacia Atherton was thrilled at the turn out and the response to the event.
“Today has been nothing short of magical. Its such a great experience to spending the morning with plumbing apprentices discussing the future of the industry and hearing their passion for trades,” she said.
Penrith turns out for tradie lady networking.
On April 19th, EWIT hosted a networking event in collaboration with apprenticeship and employment organization, VERTO. The event provided an excellent opportunity for Tradie Ladies, Non-binary folks, apprentices, and those passionate about the trades to connect over a FREE breakfast with the Greater Western Sydney crew.
Mel Davis our COO said it was an exciting event that diversity is important to the trades indsutries.
“North Penrith, you really turned up on Friday for our Women in Trades Networking event with the VERTO (Australia) Women in Trades team – Chris Durrant, Simone Wright & Natasha Judd.
It was phenomenal to meet so many amazing individuals doing great things in the space and being voices for promoting diversity and equality beyond just gender. This event’s theme was career progression and investing in women already in the industry to support the next steps of career development.
We know it takes a village – and this village is epic! #30by30
Massive thanks go out to event sponsors Carly Allen and the Gamuda Australia team and Bunnings North Penrith – without their continued support, we would not be able to put these events on. They are vitally important for building connections and a sense of belonging.”
